Job Description

Summary

Applies acquired skills, knowledge, and departmental guidelines and procedures when assisting customers and Havertys employees.  Responsible for issuing refunds on purchases, processing of lock box payments, assisting with gift cards, and assisting in the outsourced financing relationship.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Answers incoming phone calls from store personnel and consumers concerning lock box processing, refunds, third party financing, and credit card processing.
  • Processes incoming emails received in response to requests from PCs on refunds, payment processing issues, gift card purchases, and third part financing issues.
  • Assists store personnel and customers with issues that may arise from a gift card purchase.
  • Handles the approval process for refunds from purchases regardless of financing selection.
  • Applies funds from a cash purchase to a Havertys account when originally requested for refund.
  • Initiates dispute file in response to written or verbal inquiries by customers electing third party financing.
  • Processes information requests from third party financing vendor.
  • Reviews on a daily basis store overrides on third party financed accounts and send initial communication to store personnel
  • Processes exception payments and correspondence.
  • Assists in mentoring new associates as assigned.
  • Maintains customer confidentiality.
  • Processes returned checks from all Havertys locations.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                                   

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills                                                

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

 

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

Computer Skills                                               

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and more specifically associated applications including Outlook, Excel and Word.
