Photography Studio Assistant

Job Description

Pay:  $21.00 per hour.

Schedule: Monday – Thursday 8 am - 7 pm, no weekends required     

MAJOR FUNCTION:  

The studio production assistant is responsible for furniture prep, studio set-up, and moving small to large scale furniture and accessories during the photo shoot process. Also, returning items to back to stock once photography is approved.  Will be certified to drive a tugger. Will need to drive product throughout the distribution center picking up or dropping items from/to different departments. During photo shoots, the studio production assistant will build the set with correct lighting and will need to move the studio lights during each shot. There will be miscellaneous cleaning of the studio and making sure equipment is properly charged and stored each night.

Please note:  Position is based in the Havertys Distribution Center located in BRASELTON, GEORGIA. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Set-up products and lighting  
• Product preparation such as polishing, ironing, steaming and minor repairs 
• Complete assembly of beds and linens: creating beds with three types of linens: Top of bed, headboard only and full bed assembly. 
• Move products around during photo shoots and return the product to RTS dept. once photography has been approved by corporate 
• Make camera lighting adjustments per photographer’s direction  
• Daily research in HVT net and My Delivery Center for merchandise requests 
• Create daily manifest 
• Update job sheet requests and monthly metric excel spreadsheets 
• Requires an eye for details when preparing furniture for full shots.    
• Cleaning of studio and storage room.

Working Conditions:  Havertys Eastern Distribution Center, Monday – Thursday 8am – 7pm.  

Equipment Operation:  Tugger (hand truck/dolly), Studio lighting, Microsoft Word, Excel and corporate inhouse systems 

Attire: Casual close that you can move, bend, kneel, and arrange furniture while wearing.  Closed toe shoes are must.  

III. Specifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Physical ability to move heavy furniture with the proper equipment provided 
• Ability to communicate clearly with photographer and team members at the distribution center 
• A physical lifting abilities test with passing score is required 
• Background check and Drug test is required
• Ability to become Tugger certified
