Job Description



Assist the General Manager with the smooth running of the Profit Center in whatever capacity is required. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


  • May plan, advise, perform and administer the delivery side of the warehouse. 
  • May plan, advise, and perform Customer Relations., including solving and resolving any customer and employee complaints.
  • May assist in planning and performing Product training for the sales team.  This includes scheduling meetings and updating changes.
  • May assist all store locations with any problems or coordination required to make sales.
  • May advise, plan and administer ways of effectively reducing costs and increasing sales in areas of responsibility.
  • May be responsible for the hiring, training, discipline and terminating of all employees.
  • May be responsible for all store management, sales and office personnel.
  • May supervise branch managers in all of their operations.
  • May assist sales staff in serving customers and in closing out sales.
  • May supervise the sales department and hold sales meetings.  May follow-up prospecting and scheduling.
  • May be responsible for accumulating, processing and analyzing data on sales performance.
  • May be responsible for floor coordination, merchandising, tagging and building maintenance.
  • May run and work computer reports as assigned by GM including but not limited to Flow Reports, special orders, Reorder Point, and Sales Performance States.
  • Must maintain working knowledge of all automated systems to include sales, warehousing, customer service and cashier functions.
  • May sign all stock transfers.
  • May review sales tickets at night for proper information.
  • May be required to produce a level of sales required by store management and Havertys policy.
  • May assist in moving furniture around the showroom floor.


You may occasionally be required to perform the duties listed below as needed:

  • Prepares bank deposits and daily closing summary
  • Maintains an organized and secure office environment
  • Answers incoming calls
  • Reviews the Unconfirmed sales for the next 8 delivery days.
  • Processes customer sales and account transactions.
  • Handles customer complaints, opens store notes, and follows up on existing customer service tickets
  • Works the Expected Deliveries to ensure sales are completed and schedules deliveries as needed.
  • Runs and works the daily reports.
  • Communicates with Havertys Credit Services for account requests and follow-up

Job Requirements



Education and/or Experience                                                  


Four-year degree with Business major is preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Other Qualifications


Must have sales and furniture knowledge.


Selling experience with Havertys may be required.


Computer literacy required with Microsoft Office experience preferred.


Must be detail-oriented and excellent communication skills.


Must be able to follow oral and written instructions


Must be able to work independently while using discretion
