Job Description

SHIFT: MON - FRI 8AM TO COMPLETION

MAJOR FUNCTION

The Shipping Leads responsibility is to prepare furniture for delivery by performing the following duties.  The “To Do List” must be reviewed and worked by route to insure the product meets our customers expectations before its loaded in the chute.  Training materials and special inspection   instructions  must be documented  using MDC (MY Delivery Center)  before any item is verified  in the chute.  Leads must work in conjunction with the shipping supervisor to direct his team to meet Haverty’s exception and productivity standards. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Uses MDC to review the team’s delivery exceptions
• Takes responsibility for efficiently directing the team’s workflow
• Uncartons/unwraps furniture and inspects for defects and damage
• Places prepared merchandise in the chutes
• Organizes the chutes in delivery order
• Completes MDC “To Do List”
• Takes and uploads pictures to MDC as necessary
• Maintains good working knowledge of MDC
• Responsible for meeting production and quality standard goals
• Responsible for the proper handling and care of the furniture
• Verifies and reconciles chute inventory
• Accountable for decisions made regarding reselects
• Responsible for tracking damaged merchandise , taking pictures of and moving both physically and with the scanner to the proper location.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work space

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• Heavy lifting required up to 150 lbs
• Must comply with Havertys safety requirements
• Good communication skills
